As I sit at the kitchen table with the kid’s tea on the go, a million things are running through my head. Have I drunk enough water today? When can I fit another food shop in this week? Is it PE tomorrow at school or have I got to iron uniforms tonight… oh shit the potatoes have boiled over (running over to the stove and tripping over the dog). Potato water everywhere, burnt finger and a screaming dog… Stop. And. Breathe… Where was I? Oh yeah, life! What else have I got to remember and cram into an already hectic family schedule? Sound familiar?
Cookies…. That’s it... the day job! January seems a little over whelming to be honest because the daunting realisation of pushing harder and harder everyday brings a sense of excitement but also an anxious feeling of doing it right for the sake of both the family and our little business.
We've achieved so much these passed 5 years and particularly last year was such an exciting time, so this year is about working hard and saving up to set up that bakery I’ve always dreamed of. We cannot keep working at the same pace with the same quantities in such a small kitchen, so here’s the plan… Sell the house and buy somewhere with an outbuilding that we can convert into a dream bakery!
This would be a huge step but one that will continue the journey and ensure that we still maintain that work life balance. I am so excited about this plan but it will take us time, both selling the house and buying and converting something into a bakery, so watch this space!
I know I say this all the time and it may just seem empty as people say this sort of thing regularly, but I want each and every one of you know that we are so grateful and thankful to you all. Just reading this blog is supporting us, so when you purchase our cookies, either at an event or online, it is such an exciting and humbling process to prepare, bake and serve our products to each of you. So thank you,
Sian x
